Fundraising Update

My initial fundraisers were quite successful. I held a yoga event at Revolution Power Yoga, in which my fellow Teacher Trainees taught a moving, powerful class with me. I also held another haircut event, which was also very successful. Then something amazing happened. A great client and friend of mine, Dawn, contacted me asking for details on Children's Global Alliance. She then emailed Lisa Marie and me to let us know that a company she works with, Umbrella Roofing Inc, was going to donate $3000 to my fundraising efforts. This combined with my previous fundraisers, and an event with Jen at Cafe 163, brought me to the needed $5000. I cannot tell you how much of a relief this was. Being gone for 6 weeks brings a lot of pressure, not working and also having to keep paying bills, so having my trips paid for gives me plenty of time to make money and save for while I'm gone.

I have been thinking about the kids in Cambodia so much lately. I miss them, and the simple way they live. Vail during the holidays is so crazy. People spending money unnecessarily, prices skyrocketing just because they can... I long to be with simple, happy, grateful people. I can appreciate extravagance, but the lifestyle just isn't for me.

Here are a few photos of the recent happenings. Until next time!
